Release notifications are emailed to customers in advance of new releases. Emails are distributed to users who have opted-in as follows:
Hosted and On Premise (Looker Managed) Instances:
- All users who opt-in to release emails. Prior to Looker 5.14 opt-in was offered when you create your account in releases. In Looker 5.14+ those subscribed to "Product feature updates" in the Subscription Center will receive release emails. Regardless of the release they're on, users can update their subscription from their Account Settings (~/account) page.
- All emails listed in the admin panel as "Technical Contacts" (see documentation) or Salesforce Technical contacts if none are listed in admin panel.
On Premise (Customer Managed) Instances:
- All emails listed in the admin panel as "Technical Contacts" (see documentation) and Salesforce Technical contacts.
