The Data Analyst is responsible for developing strategies that ensure that the Forum becomes a
truly data-driven organization. This will be achieved through the improvement of the Forum’s
data warehouse capability drawing from existing and new data sources and translating data to
business insights that can drive smart business decisions.
- Providing data reporting functions to the business and technical community using Talend and
- Troubleshooting data discrepancies and work on resolving and clarifying them.
- Work with business and technology partners to build insightful analytics solution, forecasting
and regression models.
- Identify areas where operational efficiency can be improved through enhanced automation and implement those enhancements.
This role will be part of the IT team, reporting to the VP, IT, but will be cross-functional support
for the delivery of data insights to the whole business. They will work closely with Marketing and
Sales colleagues who use Marketo and Salesforce. TM Forum is a globally distributed, busy
organization, and the role will suit a conscientious self-starter that enjoys working remotely with
colleagues in different time zones, with different levels of knowledge in reporting and gaining
business insights from data. Overall responsibility for sales revenue and target achievement in
the following areas: -
A proven track record of developing data warehouses from source data and use of ETL.
Preferably with Talend and SQL database technologies
Excellent knowledge of data modeling techniques and implementing Slowly Changing
Dimensions within a data warehouse * Knowledge and experience of using REST APIs and
working with JSON data
Expert SQL knowledge
Expert use business intelligence tools. Preferably Birst or YellowFin but not essential
Demonstrate strong ability to translate business requirements into clear and concise reporting
insights. Designing the data required in the warehouse through to front end visualization tools
Ability to build dashboards and reports that report on a wide variety of metrics
Experience implementing and enforcing data segmentation and data management policies
Excellent attention to detail, ability to validate data and troubleshoot issues
Competent Microsoft Office user: Word, PowerPoint, Excel
A natural ability to provide one-to-one coaching to business colleagues, and provide tips and
tricks with using reporting technologies
Nice to have
Experience of working with marketing automation systems and CRM (pref Marketo and
Experience with Microsoft PowerBI and Office 365
Experience of app development
Interest in Machine Learning and AI
Knowledge and awareness of GDPR and associated requirements
You have five year’s hands-on experience of full stack BI development:
You enjoy using data to build insights and you have an educational background to degree level
that supports this inherent fascination
You have hobbies and side-interests that reflect this interest in structure and logic
You have the people skills and patience to train and mentor people with different levels of
competency in using data
You can work remotely and support users on different time zones in different continents, as part of a distributed global team
