Looker for Google Cloud: Getting Started Guide
(Tig Newman) #2

Since Google Cloud SQL now only supports GTID replication, Looker no longer supports PDTs on this dialect. You can still create non-persistent derived tables. I have updated the article and the screenshot to show this.

Hey @erin,

I am just wondering if the above article still holds true with regards to Looker not supporting PDTs from Google Cloud SQL?

Thanks,

Kieran

Hi Kieran,

Yes, the comment above is still true for Google Cloud SQL. Looker does not support PDTs.

To elaborate a little more as to why we don’t support PDTs here it is because “CREATE table AS SELECT” is not supported by Google Cloud SQL, when/if this feature becomes available from Google Cloud SQL we would be able to offer support for PDTs.

Thanks for checking in!
