Hello
I am having some major issues with granting sql server pdw permission…
I was able to configure looker for azure sql database but when we migrated to azure parrallel datawarehouse we had the following errors…

GRANT KILL DATABASE CONNECTION TO looker;
Msg 104001, Level 16, State 1, Line 521
Incorrect syntax near ‘KILL’.

GRANT VIEW DATABASE STATE to looker;
Msg 104001, Level 16, State 1, Line 522
Incorrect syntax near ‘VIEW’.

Is anyone familiar with sql server pdw that can look into these commands.
Lastly the web based connection documentation for looker only covers sql server, not azure pdw or sql databases.

Hi Audley - have you tried the documentation for SQL Datawarehouse located here? The commands will vary slightly.

Hello.
I had some issues, but now resolved.

I configured looker user and tested database connection, error message was displayed.

Cannot use persistent derived tables in "looker_scratch"[create cached table] Java::ComMicrosoftSqlserverJdbc::SQLServerException: CREATE TABLE permission denied in database 'foobar'.

then, I granted CREATE TABLE to looker, database connection test was completed normally.

GRANT CREATE TABLE TO looker

thank you.
