In our case, we want the speed! I came from a parallel processing world where performance is our #1 concern.
Right now, we are having a large number of potential users who are looking into the data from very different perspectives ==> different SQL statements sent to the DB. In that case, caching does not do us not much good in many cases. Beside, one of the main complain of our users with other BI tools (names shall not be mentioned) is the performance. We are given the instructions from our boss to target every report for 5~10 seconds, so every second counts. Turning the cache off is not recommended, we know that. Hope these are what you asking.
