Faceted filters on dashboards allow filters to "listen" to other filters. For example, we might have an "Age" filter and a "Username" filter. We can set the filters so that the "Username" filter suggestions update based on what we specify for our "Age" filter.
The funnel symbol will show when we specify a value for "Age" to show that it is updating the filter suggestions for "Username".
This can be done by specifying the
listens_to_filters: [filter_name] parameter in the filter definition.
Using our example above, we would have:
- name: age
- name: username
For our "Username" filter, we simply set it to listen to our "Age" filter.
