AXS is looking for a talented and motivated senior data architect to own and strengthen the architecture of our data products and systems. As part of the global architecture team, the ideal candidate enjoys and thrives in working with a variety of tools, languages, systems, and architectures while ensuring our data architecture and strategy adhere to scalable best practices. This role will work closely with the SVP, Global Data Strategy & Analytics and team in ensuring for analytics maturation by building a global platform that would serve insights and foresight to all parts of the business.

  • Own architecture responsibilities and collaborate with other senior architects and engineers in ensuring a holistic enterprise architecture is established across our ecosystem
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the system integrations and data relationships between various platforms in order to create an enterprise view of AXS’ data needs
  • Design, implement, and catalog new and existing data sources and mappings that will power our data warehouse, business intelligence platforms, reporting platforms, marketing platforms, and core applications
  • Lead multiple projects and build end to end data strategies that form the basis for AXS’ analytical, BI and core data needs
  • Work closely with the engineering teams throughout the development process in ensuring best practices and technical soundness (scalability, reliability, performance, security) for data engineering
  • Propose and evaluate improvements, industry standards, and new/emerging technologies that allow us to continue to build advanced analytics, reporting and data science platforms
  • Establish a data architecture roadmap through consensus and ensure its implementation throughout the development lifecycle
  • Understand data in all facets of AXS’s lifecycle – web analytics, transactional data, raw logs, unstructured data, data appends, machine learning models, etc
  • Collaborate with IT teams, external providers and business owners in translating business requirements into a technical implementation plan and roadmap
  • Become a technology evangelist and mentor other engineers and developers


  • Minimum 8 years of defining, architecting and delivering data solutions and platforms
  • Advanced knowledge of data architecture, data warehousing, data pipelines, data streaming, and data processing
  • Experience with development in Python, R and Java
  • Ability to categorize and classify data via a library sciences discipline a plus
  • Strong experience in working with relational databases including PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle
  • Strong experience in cloud-based data warehousing solutions (Redshift, Snowflake)
  • Strong experience in working with Big Data technologies (Hadoop, Spark)
  • Experience with streaming (Kinesis) and event driven architecture
  • Experience with Business Intelligence platforms (Looker, SQL Server Reporting Services)
  • Experience with Marketing and Analytics platforms (Adobe) a plus
  • Experience with serverless technologies (AWS lambda) a plus
  • Experience with NoSQL platforms (DynamoDB, Cassandra) and Search platforms (Elasticsearch)
  • BS in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent work experience
